UNIT OVERVIEW:
This is a mini-unit that will run for only TWO weeks.You will ANALYSE information presented to you and QUESTION its scientific content for validity.
Topics you will explore include:
- The Greenhouse Effect
- greenhouse gases
- possible effects of greenhouse gas emission
- everyday usage of greenhouse gases in our homes
- Climate change
- differing viewpoints towards climate change
- possible causes and effects of climate change
- the Kyoto protocol
- Carbon cycle
- movement of carbon on and around Earth
These three areas of study interlink and allow greater understanding of this complicated and highly controversial issue.
ASSESSMENT:
All students will submit a double-page of information relevant to the three topics.
